Back from Vacation!

Hey Bloggers! I'm back from a very relaxing vacation week. To have a break from the daily grind of commute, work, commute, repeat is so essential. I had a great pool day mid week and several fun artsy days throughout the week. I hung out with friends and spent some quality time with my old girl Simba. She is 14.5 years old and I'm savoring my time with her.
This past Friday I got together with my artsy fartsy girl Jenn Shurkus and we were missing the other third of our group, Rachel Kleinman who recently moved into a gorgeous house down south! Jenn and I caught up AGAIN on our Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2015. We finished July and August and today I'm going to share August with you as I still have time to enter my tag on Tim's blog. Here's Tim's August 12 Tags of 2015

The technique Tim shares this month is a mixed media use for dies. Dies were used to create a dimensional background and elements were then collaged over the background. I wanted to create a bright background so I chose different distress inks for the background, highlights around the found relative image and edging. Here's my tag ...
I chose Picked Raspberry, Squeezed Lemonade and Ripe Persimmon Distress Inks for my bright background. Here's a few close-ups
We highlighted the edges of the image to create some shadowing. I used Hickory Smoke Distress marker and blended it in as I colored around the image. The matte medium used to collage the elements allows the blending to happen easily.
I applied Hickory Smoke Distress paint to the edges of the tag - I love how that contrasted with the brighter colors. I really love this technique and will use it again. Thanks Tim for the new ways to use our products!! I will return this week with July's 12 Tags of 2015.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!!

Project Life: Week 30 | 2015

Hey Everyone. I'm hopping on today to share my latest Project Life page using Noel Mignon's Country Life Daily Diary Kit! This kit has been so much fun to use - I LOVE all the bright colors and the fun embellishments. Here's the whole page ...
I used my Fuse Tool again on this page to create my own 2 x 2 pockets. I made a shaker pocket out of one of the 2 x 2 pockets by combining various sequins and then sealing it closed with my AWESOME Fuse Tool. I added some adorable epoxy bees that came with this month's kit to the outside of the sequin pocket.
I cut one of the 4 x 6 cards into three pieces to fit in the 2 x 2 and 4 x 4 pockets.
I have lots more close-ups of my page on the Noel Mignon blog today. The design team has created great projects showcasing this month's Daily Diary and Classic kits. These kits are LOADED with product and are a great value!
Thanks for stopping by and I'll see you soon!!

Project Life: Week 43 | 2014

Hello - hope you all are doing well and enjoying this glorious summer.
In an ongoing effort to complete Project Life 2014, I recently bought a new Project Life Collection from Hobby Lobby called September Skies by Heidi Swapp. I purchased the Core Kit and the Value Kit so I would have lots to work with. The Value Kit contains some fun die cut shapes which add a lot to the cards. Here's my page using Photo Pocket Page Design B.
I LOVE the title card - I used some bits from the value kit to dress up the card ...
Here's the other 4x6 cards ...

The 3x4 pockets are all landscape in orientation so I printed out my photos with the Instax Printer. I love the polaroid look of the photos. I stapled each photo to the card and journaled behind the photo.

Here's some more close-ups ...

I LOVE the dog card. I added more silver glitter elements to coordinate with the adorable doggie card.

This is such a fun collection. I will be back with more pages using this collection as I try to finish up PL 2014!! Thanks for stopping by and I'll be back soon!
